![]() ![]() Inspection interval on the engines is 6,000 hours. The Challenger 601-3R is powered by two GE CF34-3A1 two-spool, high-bypass ratio turbofans rated at 8,729 lbs. Based on test and field data, Cessna has issued a Supplemental Inspection Document recommending the life limit for the aircraft. As part of the continuing product safety process, Cessna looks at data from test articles and from field reports regarding the structural integrity of its aircraft. ![]() Operators of Cessna 441 Conquest II twin turboprops must comply with a life limit of 22,500 flying hours, and several of the aircraft have been grounded. Production of the Conquest II ended in 1986, after a run of 362 units. The aircraft was renamed Conquest II in 1983, when the 425 Corsair was renamed Conquest I. The crash was apparently the result of elevator and/or trim tab flutter, and a redesign of the system was undertaken. ![]() The inflight breakup of an early production Conquest just four months after certification led to grounding of the fleet. The 441, which was later named the Conquest, was based on the piston-engined 404 Titan, but was powered by Garrett TPE 331-8-406S turboprop engines and was pressurized.The maiden flight of the prototype was accomplished in August 1975, and FAA Part 23 certification and first deliveries followed in September 1977. It was to be a turboprop-powered, cabin class twin with seating for up to ten. In November 1974, Cessna announced that it was developing the Model 441. ![]()
